Railway Dam

Overview

This historic dam is a great spot to have a picnic and enjoy nature. RV camping is permitted and there are two gas fired barbeques and picnic tables. An information bay describes the early history of the railway network, and the post-war European immigrants who have made a great contribution to the district. There are two easy walk trails around the dams.

Dam Walk

650 METRES

It is an easy 15-minute walk around the eastern dam wall amongst shady flooded gums that provides walkers with a lovely view of the dam and water birds.

Archibald Park Trail

1.2 KILOMETRES

It is an easy 40-minute walk. Archibald Park was built as the only jet boat course outside Perth in 1992. Water was pumped into the course from Railway Dam for an event twice a year.
